Perfectly situated within a half-day’s drive of major Texas metros, Marble Falls rests in the center of one of Texas’ most desirable travel areas: the Texas Hill Country. Marble Falls CVB tapped lookthinkmake to create a new voice and integrated marketing plan to encourage multi-day visits. Marble Falls sought to distinguish themselves by highlighting the city’s unique topography, plethora of water-based activities, seasonal celebrations, and exciting local businesses, so we planned and implemented a comprehensive creative, public relations, digital, and media campaign to do just that.

One visit isn’t enough.

Driven by the tagline “Worth Every Trip,” the multimedia campaign for Marble Falls appears in print advertising, specialty travel publications, digital media, and in sales collateral like a comprehensive travel guide. Driven by an incredible array of activities and complemented by custom photography showcasing the rich texture of the area, the campaign celebrates Marble Falls’ hospitality and surprising adventures, all while hinting at more discoveries for the next time—since one visit just isn’t enough.

With over 50 pages of local listings, photos, illustrations, and maps, the Marble Falls Travel Guide was among the winners of the 2021 Texas Travel Awards.

Connecting with our guests.

Public relations plays a critical role in the campaign, sharing the local stories, events, and community personalities that make Marble Falls a fun and welcoming destination with local and regional media, and online travel writers. This comprehensive public relations plan, including media weekends and custom itineraries, was designed to integrate with the multimedia ad campaign. And as COVID-19 changed how the world travels, we developed Marble Falls virtual vacation videos to help create moments of calm in a turbulent time. As a result, Marble Falls continues to be featured in a wide variety of publications and media outlets.

Let the adventures begin.

Our digital process began with the development of a new, two-fold online home for Marble Falls tourism. First, we launched a new trip-planning microsite, offering suggestions for full-day and weekend itineraries based on a user’s interests. We followed up with a comprehensive website, visitmarblefalls.org, featuring everything you need to plan a full adventure to Marble Falls and the surrounding hill country. Using search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and extensive keyword and audience intent-based research, organic traffic continues to grow month-over-month, increasing the website’s discoverability across all major search engines.

The digital journey.

In addition to creating a hub to explore all that Marble Falls has to offer and plan a trip to this wonderful destination, we developed a series of Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest campaigns to create awareness around the many seasonal activities and attractions available throughout the year. In addition to our social media campaigns, we launched a search-based campaign to create awareness around Marble Falls for those seeking nearby travel destinations in Texas. This campaign was perfect for those looking for weekend getaways within driving distance.

Our multi-year partnership with Marble Falls has been a collaborative and winning combination. We have used our strategic findings to create successful photography-driven multichannel campaigns across print and digital media. For example, we secured coverage in local and regional media outlets resulting in over one hundred million media impressions in a one-year PR cycle.

As a result of the continued awareness generated from our PR and digital tactics, branded search queries and brand share of voice continue to increase significantly year over year, leading to incremental growth in web traffic from new visitors. Texans everywhere are hearing all about the magic of Marble Falls­—and are staying a while.
